Director to Leave Safeway, Stay With Blackhawk
Safeway said yesterday in a filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission that Douglas J. Mackenzie informed the company last week that he will not stand for re-election to Safeway’s board of directors at this year's annual meeting.

PLEASANTON, Calif. — Safeway here said yesterday in a filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission that Douglas J. Mackenzie informed the company last week that he will not stand for re-election to Safeway’s board of directors at this year's annual meeting.
His term will end effective May 13. However, he will continue to serve as a director of Blackhawk Network Holdings, the Safeway subsidiary that runs its third-party gift-card display program. Safeway is scheduled to report results for the recently ended fiscal year today.
