FOOD LION NAMES BONNEAU VP OF EFFICIENCY

SALISBURY, N.C. — Food Lion has named Pete Bonneau vice president of efficiency and productivity. Bonneau, who will report to Scott Harrison, senior vice president of information technology and chief information officer, will be responsible for identifying efficiencies and savings opportunities across the organization. Bonneau most recently served as leader of the private brand engine of growth, in which he led initiatives for Delhaize's U.S. operating companies. In prior roles, he led the development and implementation of the company's unsaleables program and pioneered a cross-functional process in the logistics operation that enables effective management of costs, inventory and service levels.

SAVONA TAKES DESIGN POST AT PRICE CHOPPER

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper Supermarkets announced that Trieste Savona has been promoted to the new position of director of design, reporting directly to Bill Sweet, vice president of construction and engineering. In his new position, Savona will be responsible for overseeing the design of all corporate capital projects for the 115-store chain, including new stores, remodels and corporate facilities. He has been with Price Chopper since 1989, holding several positions, including draftsperson, senior purchasing agent and, most recently, manager of design.

RYAN REDNER NAMED COO AT FAMILY'S CHAIN

READING, PA. — Redner's Markets has promoted Ryan Redner to chief operating officer and Frank Fiore to vice president of grocery operations. Redner joined the company in 1995 and in 1999 became the director of direct store delivery operations. He was named to the board of directors in 2004. He will oversee the operations for Redner's 40-unit Warehouse Market and 12-store Quick Shoppe divisions and will report to his father, Richard Redner, president and chief executive officer. Fiore joined Redner's in 1991 and most recently was director of automated ordering and inventory control. He will supervise the grocery and dairy/frozen food departments.
