Family Dollar Promotes Modla

MATTHEWS, N.C. — Family Dollar Stores here said it has promoted Jacob Modla to vice president and deputy general counsel. Modla will continue to report to Janet Kelley, senior vice president and general counsel for the discounter. Modla began his career at Dollar General in 2004 as assistant general counsel of litigation. He spent 14 years in private practice at law firm Haynsworth Baldwin (now Ogletree Deakins), the company said.
