PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A fourth suspect admitted to stealing debit and credit card information from shoppers at Stop & Shop stores, reports said Thursday. Michael Stepanian pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to commit fraud and aggravated identity theft. Three of his co-conspirators have already entered guilty pleas. The men allegedly replaced PIN pads on credit-card readers at several Stop & Shop stores with devices that recorded customer information. They then took that information to make withdrawals and charges totaling $132,000. They were arrested in February and face up to five years imprisonment and fines.
