NEW YORK — The online grocery delivery service FreshDirect here will mark its fifth anniversary today by deeply discounting several of its “President’s Picks” weekly sales items and selling a six-month “unlimited delivery pass” for $55.55 (down from $99). Among the sale items are USDA Choice bone-in rib steak, wild snapper fillet, goat cheese ravioli, wild shrimp, Organic Columbian coffee and other items at $5.55 per pound (the items previously sold for up to $16.99 per pound). FreshDirect was founded on July 11, 2002. About 25% of its current customers placed orders in its first few weeks, the company noted.
