Frozen fruit sold at Kroger stores part of recall
Action taken is due to potential listeria contamination
The Food & Drug Administration just issued a recall on specific frozen fruit products sold at Kroger locations across the U.S. The affected frozen fruit products contain mango chunks linked to the potential contamination of listeria monocytogenes.
This announcement comes after Walmart, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Target, Aldi, and Associated Wholesale Grocers were also issued a recall linked to frozen fruit containing pineapple just last week.
The Kroger stores impacted by the recall include Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Four of Kroger’s its Private Selection frozen bagged products have been recalled:
48-ounce Tropical Mango Chunks
16-ounce Strawberry Mango & Pineapple Blend
48-ounce Classic Fruit Medley
48-ounce Blueberries, Strawberries & Mangoes
So far, there have been no illnesses connected to this recall. Date codes and lot numbers for the recall can be found here.
