H-E-B opens ecommerce fulfillment center in Texas
Site supports expansion for the grocer
H-E-B is expanding its growth in the Dallas-Fort Worth region with an ecommerce fulfillment center.
The grocer officially opened the center in Plano, Texas, Monday. The company says the 55,000-square-foot facility will help with curbside and delivery orders in Plano and surrounding stores in Frisco, McKinney, and Allen.
The McKinney and Allen locations will be open for business later this year. The Plano facility, which is the sixth that has been constructed since 2018, will employ more than 125 workers. According to H-E-B, the facility uses various forms of automation to help workers process orders.
H-E-B, which is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, says it is not done building fulfillment centers in Texas, either, as more are planned to support expansion into the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. Just a few weeks ago, H-E-B announced plans to open two Joe V’s Smart Shop by H-E-B in the DFW Metroplex. Joe V’s Smart Shop by H-E-B delivers an assortment of community-focused products and offers H-E-B products. Each store is typically 55,000 square feet in size.
