Houchens Donates $5 Million to College Stadium
Houchens Industries, operator of the Food Giant chain and other food retailing banners in the region, has donated $5 million to help refurbish the football stadium at Western Kentucky University, the school said.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Houchens Industries here, operator of the Food Giant chain and other food retailing banners in the region, has donated $5 million to help refurbish the football stadium at Western Kentucky University, the school said. The Houchens Industries name will be added to L.T. Smith Stadium, which began a $37.5 million renovation at the end of the team’s 2006 season,. The Hilltoppers are slated to make the transition from Division 1-AA to Division 1-A next season, joining the Sun Belt Conference.
