CHICAGO — Mariano's Fresh Market is scheduled to open its first downtown Chicago store Tuesday — its fourth in the Chicagoland market.
The banner, owned by Milwaukee-based Roundy's Supermarkets, is named after Bob Mariano, chief executive officer of Roundy's and the former CEO of Chicago's Dominick's chain.
Roundy's previously opened Mariano's Fresh Market stores in Arlington Heights, Vernon Hills and on Western Avenue. The new store is on East Benton Place in the Lakeshore East area.
The 50,000-square-foot location in a residential neighborhood includes two floors, with prepared foods and an outdoor patio on the upper level, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune.
Additional locations are planned for Palatine, Forest Glen and The Loop, the newspaper reported.
