Neibergall Named President of Safeway East

Safeway has announced that Steve Neibergall has become president of the company’s Eastern division.

PLEASANTON, Calif. — Safeway has announced that Steve Neibergall has become president of the company’s Eastern division. He replaces Hank Cominiello, who joins the company’s corporate retail operations team as group vice president, retail initiatives. Neibergall came to Safeway in 1989 as a store manager trainee in the Phoenix division, where he progressed through a variety of retail store and district manager assignments. He was promoted to vice president, retail operations, in Safeway’s Northern California division in 2000, then to the same position at Dominick’s in 2002 and in the Phoenix division in 2004. He was promoted to his most recent position, senior vice president, produce and floral, in 2005.
