WYOMISSING, Pa. — Services are scheduled here this Thursday for Mary G. Redner, co-founder of Redner’s Markets. Redner died on Saturday at age 89. A former kindergarten teacher, Redner founded Redner’s Markets in 1970 with her husband, Earl W. Redner, and the two operated the chain for 20 years before retiring in 1990. The Reading, Pa.-based company now operates 40 Warehouse Markets and 12 Quick Shoppes in Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland. She is survived by her sons Richard and Gary, who continue to run the business; a daughter, Chere A. Kelley; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
