Ruddick Changes Name, Revamps Titles

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ruddick Corp. here said it would change its name to Harris Teeter Supermarkets Inc., and also several executive titles have been changed.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ruddick Corp. here said it would change its name to Harris Teeter Supermarkets Inc., and also several executive titles have been changed.

The change had been expected following the sale last year of Ruddick’s industrial thread subsidiary, American & Efird. The Harris Teeter supermarket chain is now the sole business of Ruddick Corp. The company’s ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange will also change from RDK to HTSI. The name and ticker symbol changes, as well as the executive appointments, are effective April 2.

The company unveiled the following executive changes:

• Thomas W. Dickson has been named chairman of the board and chief executive officer. He previously was chairman, president and CEO.

• Frederick J. Morganthall II was named president and chief operating officer. He previously was President of Harris Teeter.

• John B. Woodlief was named executive vice president and chief financial officer. He previously was VP-finance and CFO.

• Rodney C. Antolock was named EVP. He previously was EVP, operations and merchandising, of Harris Teeter.

The company also said it will have its headquarters in Matthews, N.C., where Harris Teeter had been based.
