MODESTO, Calif. — Save Mart Supermarkets here said it has named Brett Wing (right) as vice president of its FoodMaxx operations, the company's 46-unit discount-store division.

He succeeds Mark Tillett, senior director of operations for FoodMaxx, who held the position on an acting basis for nearly a year after Frank Capps, the former vice president, was named executive vice president and chief sales officer for FoodMaxx.

Wing was formerly vice president, marketing, for Cub Foods, a division of Minneapolis-based Supervalu. In a 25-year career with Supervalu, he held a variety of positions, including corporate director of produce; corporate director of frozen food/dairy/liquor; senior direct of merchandising; division manager; district manager; and store manager. He also spent 10 years with Safeway.

According to Capps, "Brett's vast experience with Cub Foods and the variety of positions he has held at Supervalu will allow him to help grow our FoodMaxx market share in an economy that is very challenging for our customers. It is a time where our customers are looking for value in every food item they buy. We are looking forward to his fresh look at our business."
