Schnucks Markets Inc. is getting ready to unveil a second “fresh” store in Oak Grove Village, Mo.

The location will offer fresh food options in a smaller format than regular Schnucks stores. The idea is to provide smaller communities with a full-scale grocery store without a large footprint. The ribbon cutting will take place on Oct. 25.

The new Schnucks store, which is replacing a Frick’s Market, will be 23,000 square feet, as compared to the company’s traditional store floor plan at 60,000 square feet.

The Oak Grove Village store will center around fresh food departments including produce, meat, seafood, deli, and bakery products. A CVS pharmacy with a drive-through option will also be available.

“We look forward to continuing our mission to nourish people’s lives and to show area customers what we can offer them when building a store from the ground up,” Schnuck Markets Chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck said in a statement.

Schnucks first launched its fresh concept in Jasper, Ind., in August 2021.
