Shaw’s, Star Market Donate to One Fund Boston
WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Shaw’s and Star Market said it will donate $100,000 to support The One Fund Boston, the foundation launched by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino to raise money to help those families most affected by the Boston Marathon bombing and its aftermath.

WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Shaw’s and Star Market said it will donate $100,000 to support The One Fund Boston, the foundation launched by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino to raise money to help those families most affected by the Boston Marathon bombing and its aftermath.
In addition, the retailers, which were recently acquired by a private equity group led by Cerberus, have also launched an in-store donation campaign to enable customers to contribute directly to The One Fund Boston. Customers can donate any amount at the checkout in all 169 of the Shaw’s and Star Market locations. All proceeds raised will go directly to the One Fund Boston, and Shaw’s and Star Market will match all donations up to an additional $100,000.

“As an organization that has been part of the New England and Boston communities for over 150 years, we understand how this tragedy has affected so many of our associates and customers,” Shane Sampson, president, Shaw’s and Star Market, said in a statement. “We not only wanted to support the survivors and families of this terrible tragedy, but also wanted to provide customers a way to contribute as well. Taking care of the communities we operate in is important to Shaw’s and Star Market, and we are proud to be able to join with our customers to support The One Fund Boston.”
