Sprinkle to Succeed Sonnenberg at URM

SPOKANE, Wash. — URM Stores here said Dean Sonnenberg plans to retire Feb. 28 as president and chief executive officer of the member-owned cooperative after nine years in the post.

SPOKANE, Wash. — URM Stores here said Dean Sonnenberg plans to retire Feb. 28 as president and chief executive officer of the member-owned cooperative after nine years in the post.

Succeeding him will be Ray Sprinkle, who has spent the last nine years at URM as vice president of retail services, sales and procurement, with responsibilities for the company's cash-and-carry stores, convenience stores, foodservice operations and field sales representatives.

Sprinkle, who joined URM in 2003, previously spent 30 years with former wholesale giant Fleming Cos., ultimately heading the company's Phoenix division from 1998 till 2001 and its Northeast division from 2001 till he left in 2003.
