Union Offers Assistance for Former Farmer Jack Workers

United Food and Commercial Workers Local 876 here has launched an effort to assist former Farmer Jack workers obtain job training and get back on their feet after A&P shuttered about 21 of the locations that were not sold, according to reports.

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. — United Food and Commercial Workers Local 876 here has launched an effort to assist former Farmer Jack workers obtain job training and get back on their feet after A&P shuttered about 21 of the locations that were not sold, according to reports. The union estimated that about 3,500 former Farmer Jack workers are either unemployed or underemployed. According to the reports, the UFCW is partnering with the Michigan State AFC/CIO to help former workers find employment opportunities, job training and debt-payment solutions.
