Van Dam Named Ahold Supply Chain EVP

CARLISLE, Pa. — Ahold USA said Monday that Jan van Dam has been appointed to the position of executive vice president of supply chain and e-commerce.

CARLISLE, Pa. — Ahold USA said Monday that Jan van Dam has been appointed to the position of executive vice president of supply chain and e-commerce.

In this role, van Dam will report directly to James McCann, chief operating officer, and will be transitioning into his new assignment in April.

Ahold said van Dam will focus on leading a supply chain organization that supports Ahold USA and its four divisions. In addition to supply chain, van Dam will also have responsibility for Ahold USA’s e-commerce business, with Peapod president and general manager Andrew Parkinson reporting to him.

With 17 years of experience at Ahold, van Dam most recently was president and chief executive officer of Albert/Hypernova, Ahold’s supermarket business in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Prior to that, he served as general manager of Etos, Ahold’s drug store business in the Netherlands, and he also held a number of leadership positions at Albert Heijn, Ahold’s supermarket business in the Netherlands.

“Jan will add valuable retail expertise to Ahold USA’s leadership team,” McCann said in a statement. “Jan’s responsibility over the e-commerce side of our business will also enable us to accelerate its expansion and maximize supply chain synergies across Ahold USA and Peapod.”
