MONTOURSVILLE, Pa. — An hourly worker at Wal-Mart Stores here has launched an employee group in opposition to groups that he said distort how the majority of Wal-Mart associates feel.

“It is my intent to make sure that America and the rest of the world can see that 86% of Walmart associates do love their job and are treated with respect and are offered amazing career opportunities,” Brandon Evano said in a written statement describing Associates Who Love Walmart. The group, which Evano said is not associated with or supported financially by Wal-Mart, operates a website at awlw.info and a Facebook page with more than 12,000 “likes.”

Evano said the page was created to combat publicity that groups like the union-backed group OURWalmart was receiving for its actions, including recent walkoffs, against the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer.
