Walmart, Aldi roll out Thanksgiving meal deals
Retailers are cutting prices to help shoppers deal with inflation
Walmart and Aldi have rolled out Thanksgiving dinner meal options, and both retailers are marketing the deals as inflation-friendly options.
Walmart is offering two Thanksgiving meals, both at a lower cost than last year’s options. One of the meals targets shoppers who like to cook from scratch, and the other is ready-to-bake.
The Walmart deal begins on Nov. 1 and runs until Dec. 26.
“Saving money remains a top priority for our customers, and this holiday season, we’re building on the investments we made last year knowing they need it now more than ever,” said John Furner, president and chief executive officer, Walmart U.S. “We’re better positioned than ever before to deliver on our purpose, to help customers save money and live better, especially during the most exciting time of the year.”
Aldi is also advertising slashed prices on its Thanksgiving meals — up to 50% off on more than 70 Thanksgiving food items starting Nov. 1.
Dinner items include gravy, potatoes, green beans, cranberries and pumpkin pie, as well as staples such as butter and flour.
With the savings, the discount retailer said shoppers should be able to invite an additional three guests to their Thanksgiving meal.
