JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores here on Friday said it had named Dan Portnoy senior vice president and chief marketing and merchandising officer, a new post that oversees both functions at the company. Portnoy most recently had been president and chief executive officer of Kings Super Markets, Parsippany, N.J., a post he left after that chain was acquired by private equity last year. He previously held executive posts with private-label companies Cott Corp. and Daympon Worldwide, and with retailers Food Emporium and A&P. Tom Robbins, who had been senior vice president of merchandising, will retire, according to Winn-Dixie. Dave Henry will continue as senior vice president of marketing and will report to Portnoy.
