HEB Meat Processing has recalled over 75,000 pounds of fresh beef items after workers found metal shavings in the products, according to USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
A customer also found metal in an in-store sample.
Recalled products include various vacuum-sealed packages and items on Styrofoam trays. The items were sold at H-E-B, Central Market and Joe V’s Smart Shop.
“H-E-B is committed to the highest standards of food safety for our customers,” Winell Herron, group VP of public affairs, said in a recall announcement on H-E-B’s website. “We take every precaution necessary to ensure the integrity and quality of the products sold in our stores.”
