DAKOTA CITY, Neb. — Tyson Fresh Meat voluntarily recalled almost 41,000 pounds of ground beef after a routine test by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service’s found E. Coli 0157:H7 in the product last week.

The company said the recalled product, 80-pound boxes that contain 10-pound tubes of 80/20 ground beef, was produced on Oct. 24 with a freeze-by date of Nov. 13. The beef has been shipped to 16 states and to several retailers and distributors, including Associated Grocers and Topco.

Both FSIS and Tyson said there haven’t been any illnesses linked to the tainted beef. For more information on the recall, see Tyson’s release.
