Ahold Delhaize USA has tapped NBC’s "Today" show health and nutrition expert Joy Bauer as a contributor to its custom monthly Savory magazine distributed exclusively in its regional Northeast and mid-Atlantic supermarket banners, including Stop & Shop, Giant Landover, Giant/Martin’s (Carlisle, Pa.) and online grocer Peapod.

A first-of-its-kind partnership for the retailer’s Savory magazine, Bauer, a registered dietitian, will pen a monthly feature where she will share recipes and nutrition advice for readers. Her debut column, which appears in the January issue of Savory, is entitled “Boost Your Health in 2018.”

Ahold USA’s Savory magazine, which is available in all stores and which features seasonal recipes, entertaining ideas and nutrition tips, has a 1.5 million press run for each print issue and generates more than 5 million digital impressions monthly, according to the company.

“I feel so grateful to be able to share a message of health with people—when I hear that someone made the better choice and enjoyed it, or improved their life in some way because of a tip I shared on TV or in a magazine or newspaper, it’s truly the best feeling in the world,” Bauer said in a statement. “Teaming up with Savory allows me to extend my audience and help those who don’t necessarily have regular access to a personal nutritionist. I’m looking forward to dishing on topics like grocery shopping hacks to healthy road trip munchies to how to seamlessly feed picky eaters.”

Bauer is the founder of Nourish Snacks and is the author of 12 New York Times best-sellers. She is also the creator of JoyBauer.com and the official nutritionist for the New York City Ballet.
