Bashas’ Is Rolling in Doughnuts
Drives bakery sales with seasonal sweets. As the only Arizona supermarket to offer scratch-made doughnuts daily, Bashas' is stepping up its seasonal game with a fresh crop of handcrafted pastries.

Cornering the market on scratch-made daily doughnuts, Bashas’ Family of Stores in Chandler, Ariz., has rolled out four weeks of freshly made signature holiday pastries that are sure to please.
According to Chicago-based IRI, sales of fresh in-store bakery pastries and doughnuts were up 11.3% for the 52 weeks ending June 16, vs. one year ago, while sales of packaged pastries and doughnuts were down 1.1% for the same time period.
As the only supermarket in Arizona that makes doughnuts from scratch every morning, Bashas’ has elevated its pastry position with specially created signature holiday doughnuts in its bakery departments across the state.
Available for a limited time, the special holiday assortment includes a Peppermint Chocolate Cake Donut that is iced in green and covered with crushed candy canes and sprinkles; a maple Reindeer Donut with pretzel antlers; an Arizona Christmas Cactus Donut shaped like a saguaro cactus with a string of brightly colored frosting lights; and the Eggnog Donut, a Bismarck loaded with a rich eggnog custard filling and topped with nutmeg icing.
One of its most popular products, Bashas’ made-from-scratch doughnuts are sold for 75 cents each, $3.99 per half dozen or $6.99 per dozen. Each doughnut is freshly baked and decorated in the bakery department at Bashas’ stores. The four exclusive holiday creations will be offered alongside Bashas’ wide selection of signature doughnuts.
Currently baking more than 50 different doughnut varieties that range from the tried-and-true originals to the wacky and unexpected, Bashas’ customers have a bounty of fresh in-store bakery items from which to choose.
