Brookshire Grocery Co. has laid claim to being the first grocery retailer to house Pizza Hut kiosks in two of its stores. The in-store kiosks are now open at Brookshire’s at 2734 E. Fifth St. and the Super 1 Foods store at 3828 Troup Highway, both of which are located in the company's hometown of Tyler, Texas.

The move by the 178-store company, which operates stores under four banners in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas, joins a list of retailers who have partnered with popular restaurant names to expand their own foodservice offerings.

“We are excited to be the first retail grocer to offer our customers the convenience of fresh, hot Pizza Hut menu items,” said Brad Brookshire, chairman and CEO of Brookshire Grocery Co. “Our company is very proud to partner with Pizza Hut and expand our services in support of our mission to create and deliver exceptional experiences and value to our customers.”

The kiosks offer a menu with hot and ready items that include personal pizzas, pastas, hot wings, Hershey’s chocolate chip cookies, and Parmesan and pretzel bites. Both are open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The first two outlets are a test, with Brookshire hoping to expand the concept to other stores in Texas as well as Arkansas and Louisiana, according to a local news report.

“We know our Pizza Hut customers crave our signature menu items while on the go,” said Chequan Lewis, senior director of Pizza Hut Express. “Opening Pizza Hut’s first grocery store kiosk at Brookshire’s and Super 1 Food gives us another avenue to meet our customers wherever they are and provide them their favorite pizza and snack items through convenient in-store options.”
