Fareway Announces Executive Promotions

Piklapp named EVP; 3 others promoted to VP. The Iowa-based grocery chain has promoted four rising stars with decades of collective experience to its executive team.

Fareway Stores Inc. of Boone, Iowa, is drawing on internal resources and promoting top talent to VP and executive positions.

The grocery chain with 122 stores in five states has named Garrett Piklapp to the position of EVP, secretary and general counsel. According to LinkedIn, Piklapp was formerly SVP, secretary and general council from March 2018 to February 2020.

A nearly 30-year Fareway veteran, John Cramer has been promoted to retail VP. He was previously a supervisor.

Clint Jenkins was recently named VP of wholesale purchasing. His nearly 16-year career with Fareway began in 2004 as an assistant grocery manager. After a role as a buyer, he became director of dry grocery purchasing in 2013 and was named director of wholesale purchasing in 2017.

Promoted to VP of facilities and projects, Pat Goldsmith has been with Fareway for more than eight years. According to LinkedIn, he began as a process engineer in 2012, and in March of 2016, became the director of facilities and projects.

Family-owned Fareway said its mission is to provide the highest-quality products, while treating customers like family and valuing dedicated employees. Its stores are known for full-service meat departments, farm-fresh produce and exceptional customer service.
