Brookshire Grocery Co. is converting three stores in central Arkansas that it acquired from Cranford’s Supermarkets earlier this month.

The location in Hot Springs Village, Ark., has been converted from a FoodWise to Brookshire’s Food Store. The store in White Hall, also will be converted to the Brookshire's banner, while the store in Redfield will become a Spring Market, a banner Brookshire introduced for small footprint stores. The three new locations will join the seven Brookshire Food and five Super 1 Foods that Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire currently operates in Arkansas.

After closing on Oct. 27, the Hot Springs Village store reopened Oct. 31. That store will undergo renovations before an official grand opening ceremony will be held.

“We are excited about this agreement and the opportunity it provides us to further grow and expand in this region. These stores are a strong fit for our Brookshire’s and Spring Market banners, and we look forward to welcoming new customers and employees in these communities,” Brad Brookshire, chairman and CEO, said in a news release announcing the acquisition. “We’re a fourth-generation family business that has operated in our region for over 90 years, and we look forward to a great future here.”

Brookshire operates 181 Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, Spring Market and Fresh by Brookshire’s stores in Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana.
