GrowGeneration, a growing chain of specialty retail hydroponic and organic gardening stores, announced today that it has appointed Bob Nardelli as a strategic adviser.

According to the company, Nardelli, a former CEO of Home Depot, and GrowGeneration will work collaboratively and strategically to explore potential partnerships that will bring value to each division of GrowGeneration.

Nardelli will serve as a senior adviser to GrowGeneration CEO Darren Lampert and its board of directors. Nardelli will provide advice on matters relating to supply chain and distribution, merchandise, branding, new product introductions, pricing and channel selection.

GrowGeneration sells commercial gardening products and assists with services such as greenhouse design. The company has locations in nine states.

"Bob is a globally recognized business visionary. He comes with a strong track record of executive operations to generate accelerated, profitable growth and shareholder value across many industry verticals that are of great interest to us," said Lampert of Nardelli, who, from 2000 to 2007, helped grow Home Depot to a $90 billion company. "We see many direct parallels from Bob's Home Depot experience that we can apply to GrowGen's growth plans and strategies. Bob also takes a long-term view of value creation to benefit all stakeholders."
