Hannaford Supermarkets, which recently acquired Tradewinds Marketplace in Blue Hill, Maine, announced on Thursday that it has reached an agreement to purchase Community Pharmacy located inside the grocery store at 15 South St. in Blue Hill, Maine.

The Scarborough, Maine-based grocer will begin serving pharmacy customers under the Hannaford banner on June 12.

Hannaford purchased the business from Joe Bruno, owner of Community Pharmacies. Bruno will retain ownership of Community Pharmacies’ eight other locations.

“All of us at Community Pharmacies want to express our gratitude to the Blue Hill customers who have sustained us for nearly two decades, as well as the incredible pharmacy team who have shared their knowledge and expertise with the community,” said Bruno in a statement. “We trust that Hannaford will continue to provide the superior level of care and service that our customers have come to expect.”

Hannaford Supermarkets was founded in Portland in 1883 and is an Ahold Delhaize USA banner.
