Hy-Vee Launches Premium Membership Program

Hy-Vee Inc. has launched Hy-Vee Plus, a new premium membership that offers free grocery delivery (currently offered through the retailer’s Hy-Vee Aisles Online membership program) and additional savings and exclusive benefits both in-store and online.

Available for $99 a year—rivaling the cost of recently launched Walmart , a similar service from Walmart that has a yearly cost of $98—Hy-Vee Plus’ benefits include monthly offers and coupons, including a free item each month; free Hy-Vee Aisles Online grocery delivery (a $9.95 per order savings); free Hy-Vee Aisles Online two-hour express pickup (a $9.95 per order savings); and a personal concierge service in which members will have access to a “Red Line,” a designated telephone number staffed by a team of Hy-Vee experts and personal shoppers.

Exclusive deals and offers for Hy-Vee Plus members this December include 20% discounts on DSW footwear (building on its DSW shop-in-shop experience), Joe Fresh apparel and in-store floral purchases.

Customers currently enrolled in the existing $99 Hy-Vee Aisles Online membership program will automatically be upgraded to a Hy-Vee Plus premium membership at no additional cost. In addition, those who currently use the Hy-Vee Aisles Online service and do not have a Hy-Vee Plus membership can continue using the service as usual.

“This membership is unlike any other program in the industry and blends our greatest services—both in-store and online–into an affordable experience that brings incredible value to our customers,” said Randy Edeker, chairman, president and CEO of West Des Moines-based Hy-Vee, in a release.

The membership also offers additional savings on top of Hy-Vee’s Fuel Saver Perks program. For example, every time a member shops using their Hy-Vee Fuel Saver Perks card, they can earn an additional 3-cent Fuel Saver reward on every in-store or Hy-Vee Aisles Online purchase, on top of any Fuel Saver rewards that customers can earn today. 

Customers can sign up to become a Hy-Vee Plus premium members at their local Hy-Vee or by visiting the retailer online. Hy-Vee Plus premium membership gift cards will also be available to purchase at all Hy-Vee locations for customers.
