Choice Market, an innovative food retailer offering a hybrid experience in which grocery, fast-casual dining and an upscale c-store collide, is partnering with fellow Denver-based Locai Solutions to launch a new loyalty delivery program featuring a fleet of electric vehicles.

With its third location set to open in April 2020, Choice Market’s newest store will offer prepared foods, organic produce, groceries, beer, fuel pumps and supercharging stations. This location will also be the primary fulfillment site for the Market’s new delivery program.

“We knew we had created a really great in-store customer experience, but we were falling short on the digital side. After seeing Locai’s technology, it became obvious that they were uniquely qualified to build an engaging and personalized digital platform,” Choice Market founder and CEO Mike Fogarty said in a statement.

Customers will be able to order any item in the store and have it delivered within 45 minutes. Shoppers will also earn points on all purchases through Choice Market’s new loyalty program.

“We’re really excited to bring Mike’s vision for Choice Market’s digital experience to life,” Mike Demko, CEO and founder of Locai, said in a release. “Powered by Locai’s digital commerce platform, Choice Market’s new e-commerce site will have innovative features like giving shoppers the ability to order from Choice Market’s fast-casual dining menu side by side with groceries, beer and home essentials.”

Additionally, customers can use one-click ordering for everything they need to prepare meals at home via CookIt, a personalized meal planning tool that recommends recipes based on a shopper’s dietary preferences, items in-cart, and past purchases.

Founded in 2018 by FreshDirect and Peapod veterans, Locai offers an end-to-end digital commerce platform for grocers through its products, which include an engaging e-commerce site, a personalized meal planning application, an Endless Aisle application and an order fulfillment application for use in-store or at dedicated fulfillment centers.

Choice Market’s new platform will not only provide customers with an engaging mobile application and e-commerce website, it will also enable an enhanced self-service kiosk experience in-store.

“We're offering a place to come eat delicious food, grab some groceries and get a six-pack of beer while you fuel up. That's what convenience should be,” said Fogarty. “Locai is helping us merge digital and in-store into one cohesive omnichannel ecosystem.”
