Publix Super Markets, which recently saw net earnings surge more than 100% during the first quarter, opened its newest location on Thursday in Stuart, Florida.

The 55,454-square-foot store joins a growing list of grand openings in Florida for the employee-owned grocery retailer.

“We are excited to welcome our customers to their new store at the Cove Shopping Center and look forward to providing them with the premier service and quality Publix is known for,” said Lindsey Willis, Publix media relations manager.

Located in the Cove Shopping Center at 5943 SE Federal Highway, the Atlantic coast city’s Publix offers departments for grocery, dairy, frozen food, seafood, meat and fresh produce, as well as a full-service bakery, deli and pharmacy.

Contactless pay options, grocery delivery via Instacart and pharmacy delivery are all available, as well as centralized pick-up at the front of the store for grocery pick up via online ordering.

Last Thursday, Publix opened a new store at Celebration Pointe in Kissimmee and, earlier this month, the Lakeland, Florida-based grocery retailer celebrated the grand opening of its 15th store, in Sarasota, Florida. The grocery retailer now operates over 845 stores in Florida.

With more than 240,000 associates, Publix now operates 1,339 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.

Kentucky is the next state for the fast-growing Florida retailer's portfolio—a market dominated by long-established retailers Kroger and Walmart.

Publix announced its first store in Kentucky will be in Lexington, at the Fountains at Palomar, at the northwest corner of Man O’ War Boulevard and Harrodsburg Road. The grocer said this store is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2024. The 55,701-square-foot supermarket will have a drive-thru Publix pharmacy and an adjacent 3,200-square-foot Publix Liquors.
