As Redner’s Markets celebrates its 50th anniversary, the retailer is showing its commitment to putting the shopper first by expanding its partnership with MessageWrap and installing antimicrobial conveyor belts with messaging marking the milestone.

The conveyor belts have an antimicrobial coating that eliminates germs to keep the checkout surface—a high-touch area in grocery stores—clean and protected.

"Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had an active MessageWrap installation in two-thirds of the lanes of all stores celebrating our company’s 50th anniversary, where we were thanking our shoppers for their loyalty. And it seemed like a no-brainer to cover the remaining lanes using the same theme featuring the antimicrobial MessageWraps once the coronavirus crisis arrived,” said Ryan Redner, president and CEO of Reading, Pa.-based Redner's Markets. “By taking this step, we clearly communicated to our shoppers, employees and partners that we are taking every possible step to create the cleanest possible traditional checkout experience."

Redner’s Markets now features the antimicrobial conveyor belt covers on all checkout lanes across its 44 stores in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. The retailer began its partnership with MessageWrap in 2017, featuring multiple programs such as Redner’s Rewards and their partnerships with Kretschmar and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
