Vegan Grocery Store Sets Las Vegas Debut

Veg-In-Out, an all-vegan grocery store, is set to open Nov. 8 in Las Vegas. It will be the first all-vegan grocery store in the city, which has seen the rise of vegan restaurants and vegan menu options rise precipitously in recent years and was named one of the top 10 vegan cities in the United States, according to Wallet Hub. The store is owned by Kaiti and Erik Roger and is located next to a vegan pizza restaurant that is close to McCarran International Airport.

“We wanted to create a place where we could find a wider array of vegan products and not have to read the labels on any of them. Like going into a vegan restaurant and being able to order everything on the menu,” said co-owner Erik Roger, in a local news report. The store will feature frozen and refrigerated products, as well as boxed, canned and packaged options—even vegan junk food such as ice cream and candy bars. Veg-In-Out will not offer produce when it opens, but it could expand into that department, Roger said.

A portion of the sales will be donated to various animal nonprofits, with a different nonprofit chosen each month. To continue the loving animals theme, the store is running a contest to name its mascots: a cow, pig and chicken, with the winning entrants to each receive $100 gift cards to the store.
