Walmart Expands In-Store and E-Commerce Pet Offerings

Walmart Inc. is making several improvements to its pet offerings, including expansions of in-store clinics and a new e-commerce site for pet medications.
The retailer is opening nine new in-store veterinary clinics in the Dallas-Fort Worth area later this spring, with plans to reach 100 clinics within 12 months. The clinics are designed to save customers as much as 40% to 60% on routines exams and vaccines, as well as treat animals for minor illnesses, the company said.
Walmart is also starting a pet prescription delivery program at WalmartPetRx.com that includes low-cost medications for house pets as well as livestock, and free shipping for orders over $35.
Additionally, Walmart will stock all of its pharmacies with the 30 most requested pet medications and has been working on an expanded better-for-you food and supplement assortment for pets over the past year.
