Weis Markets has announced the launch of a new podcast, "Weis HealthyBites," in which two registered dietitians share nutritional guidance and lifestyle tips with listeners.
Weis Markets' Beth Stark, lifestyle initiatives manager, and Kathryn Long, healthy living coordinator, both of whom have radio experience, said this week that the goal of "HealthyBites" is to share real-life nutrition tricks and lifestyle tips that will inspire listeners to make healthful choices in their lives and while in the aisles of their local supermarket.
“At Weis Markets, we are always looking to engage with customers and provide practical guidance on one’s food and lifestyles choices,” said Stark. “A podcast is the perfect way to share our expert advice with a larger audience.”
The first two podcasts are available for download now, and focus on Weis’ “5-to-Thrive” philosophy. The first episode concentrates on the key pillars of 5-to-Thrive—nourish, move, be health-minded, connect and renew—along with a focus on how to live your best life and on meal planning. In the podcast's second episode, which premieres this week, Stark and Long discuss plant-based diets and popular meat substitutes.
“We are excited to provide our customers with more tips and tricks on how to be their best, healthiest selves,” said Long. “This podcast allows the Weis Markets dietitian team to discuss a variety of lifestyle topics that are applicable to our listeners’ everyday lives.”
So far in 2019, Weis Markets has stepped up efforts to engage existing and new prospective customers. This summer, the Sunbury, Pa-based retailer announced it had partnered with Birdzi, a customer engagement firm, to utilize AI and customer-driven strategies within its stores.
You can access the "Weis HealthyBites" podcast, produced by Sunbury Broadcasting Corp., on Apple Podcasts, Google Play or online.
