LaFave Grace, based in Chicago, will cover Midwest U.S. grocery retailers and wholesalers, including Walmart, Target and SpartanNash Co., as well as operations, center store and fresh foods. She began her new role earlier in November.

“A self-described data geek, Christine’s experience, talent and creativity make her a dynamic and welcome addition to our team. She has hit the ground running in her industry coverage, pursuit of executive interviews and compelling reporting,” said Jennifer Strailey, editor in chief.

LaFave Grace most recently was managing editor of Putman Media's Plant Services, a leading print and digital publication covering the manufacturing and industrial production sector. In addition to reporting on the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry, LaFave Grace led original research on the U.S. manufacturing workforce for the annual Plant Services Workforce Survey. She co-founded the Manufacturing Tomorrow's Workforce podcast and coordinated writing, marketing outreach and communications strategy for Influential Women in Manufacturing, a recognition program she co-founded in 2017 to recognize women driving change in the manufacturing industry.

From 2013-2015, LaFave Grace was an associate editor at Winsight’s foodservice consulting and market-research company Technomic. She also previously was an associate editor at Crain Communications’ Modern Healthcare magazine and Reed Business Information's Restaurants & Institutions magazine.

"I am thrilled to have joined the accomplished, dedicated WGB team," LaFave Grace said. "I'm excited to be working with this fantastic group of industry pros to deliver insightful, context-rich content for WGB audiences."

LaFave Grace has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Indiana University at Bloomington. She can be reached via email at [email protected], or find her on Twitter and LinkedIn
