Country Fresh, Sun Rich USA Get New Owner
Country Fresh's founder joins Stellex Capital Management in purchasing the fresh-cut fruit supplier. Stellex Capital Management, Country Fresh's founder and previous management have purchased the Country Fresh and Sun Rich USA brands from the Fresh Food Group.

Country Fresh and Sun Rich USA, which provide fresh-cut, ready-to-eat fruits and vegetables for retail and foodservice outlets nationwide, are splitting off from the Fresh Food Group.
Stellex Capital Management, Country Fresh founder Bryan Herr and Country Fresh management have purchased the Country Fresh and Sun Rich divisions from the Fresh Food Group, according to a news release. The two brands will operate as a stand-alone company under the Country Fresh moniker, with former Country Fresh EVP Doug Burris leading the company as CEO. Herr will become chairman.
"We have brought together an exceptionally talented team to lead this business into a new era and capture the opportunities before us," Burris said in the release.
"Service to the customer was the core tenant of Country Fresh’s foundation, and this philosophy will guide all priorities at the company moving forward," Herr added.
Country Fresh is based in The Woodlands, Texas.
