FreshDirect Offering 3 Non-Subscription CSA Boxes

Farm boxes provide culinary experience for families. Filled with local vegetables, the farm boxes provide unique culinary experiences for families cooking at home.

FreshDirect is offering three non-subscription CSA (community supported agriculture) boxes this summer to help families as they continue to cook from home during the pandemic. The boxes are filled with local, indigenous vegetables that help support local farmers and introduce consumers to some products that they may not have tried before. The boxes cost $29.99 or $14.99.

The three subscription-free boxes are:

  • Hepworth Farms Organic Box – Gail and Amy Hepworth run a third-generation organic farm in the Hudson Valley that has been pioneering better growing practices for the soil, vegetables and farm workers. This $29.99 farm share box is the pinnacle of summer, bursting with fresh herbs and six to eight different vegetables. In August, the farm also will have a 5-pound organic tomato box as well.

  • Lancaster Farm Fresh Organic Box – This $29.99 classic vegetable box is a delicious offering of eight to 10 fresh vegetables from the 150 farm partners that make up the growing co-op in Pennsylvania. In August, a tomato box that’s a mix of heirlooms and cherry tomatoes (and even fun heirloom or trial varieties of tomatoes) will be available. In the fall, FreshDirect will carry a “pretty on the inside” vegetable box filled with imperfect, large and small sized vegetables.

  • Dig Box – FreshDirect partnered up with Dig Acres in the Hudson Valley to launch an exclusive $14.99 box that can be found at Dig restaurants or at FreshDirect. This personal box is a smaller offering with only four to six different fruits and vegetables and is intended for consumers who shop for one or a couple who wants one dinner in a box. This box also offers instructions on how to cook or use the fruits and vegetables along with a recipe from the restaurant’s chef, Matt Weingarten.
