Meijer Offering Turkey at Reduced Pricing

Frozen Meijer brand birds available for 31 cents per pound with mPerks coupon. The Midwest retailer announces its commitment to providing holiday meals at a low price as the pandemic wears on, likely affecting Thanksgiving celebrations this year.

Acknowledging that this year hasn’t been easy, Meijer announced it is continuing its tradition of offering turkey at low prices so its customers can prepare “the best holiday meal for their families.”

All frozen Meijer brand turkeys are 31 cents per pound with an mPerks coupon now through Nov. 26 across the Midwest. Withouth the mPerks coupon, the turkeys cost 39 cents per pound. There is a limit of one turkey per customer.

"This year has certainly not been easy, causing numerous disruptions to birthday celebrations, milestone occasions and family gatherings," said Lynette Ackley, VP of fresh for Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Meijer. "As we head into the holiday season, we wanted to make sure our time-honored Thanksgiving tradition of offering 'the bird' at an incredibly low price continued for our customers so they could provide the best holiday meal for their families."

Meijer is also preparing for high sales of its premade ham or turkey Thanksgiving dinners, both of which have a cost of $49.99 and can feed 8 to 10 people.

The deluxe turkey dinner includes a 10- to 12-pound prebaked Butterball turkey, home-style stuffing, roasted turkey gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry relish and a dozen King's Hawaiian dinner rolls. The deluxe ham dinner includes a 7- to 9-pound spiral ham, home-style stuffing, roasted turkey gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry relish and a dozen King's Hawaiian dinner rolls.

Meijer is encouraging customers to place orders for the premade dinners ahead of time as limited quantities are available per store.

Meijer stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
