Schnucks Launches Custom-Order Cakes Through Its App

In time for a spring graduation season likely to feature more in-person celebrations than last year's did, Schnucks is letting customers design and order bakery-department cakes online. 

On Schnucks' website and through the Schnucks Rewards app, customers can create themed cakes, photo cakes and build-your-own cakes for pickup from 95 of the company's 111 locations. The new offering is part of Schnucks' effort to continually enhance its e-commerce offerings, the St. Louis-based retailer stated in a news release.

"Our goal is to provide our customers best-in-fresh solutions whether shopping in person at our stores or on their phones and computers," Schnucks VP of Bakery Chris Kline said in a news release. With the new design-and-order-online option for cakes, "Tell us what you want and we'll make it," Kline added. 

Order ahead is also available for deli, prepared-foods items and floral selections through the Schnucks Rewards app.
