Tops Friendly Markets now offers Chef’d branded meal kits in stores, in a move the company said fulfills a consumer desire for convenient meal solutions.

The easy-to-make dinners for two feature fresh, preportioned ingredients to prepare a healthy meal within 10 minutes, available in five varieties: Weeknight Chicken Pad Thai, Maple Glazed Pork Chops, Cajun Style Chicken Pasta, Pan-Fried Spicy Pork Udon and Herb Crusted Flank Steak.

“We’re proud to be able to offer a quality meal solution like Chef’d to our customers,” Diane Colgan, SVP of marketing for Tops, said in a statement.  “Chef’d partners with celebrated chefs and is led by an award winning culinary team with more than 30 years of experience in the food industry. Bringing that experience and expertise from their kitchens to our customer’s tables to share with their families is something we’re very excited about.”

The meal kits are the result of a partnership between Smithfield Foods and Chef’d, allowing the teams to combine Smithfield’s knowledge of product development, sourcing capabilities, distribution network and brand portfolio with Chef’d world-famous chefs, portfolio of recipes and direct-to-consumer experience.

Tops Markets operates 171 full-service supermarkets with five additional by franchisees under the Tops banner in New York, northern Pennsylvania, western Vermont and north central Massachusetts.
