HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The National Frozen Food Association here has announced the winners in its 18th annual Golden Penguin Awards competition, recognizing outstanding promotional efforts of the frozen food industry. HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The National Frozen Food Association here has announced the winners in its 18th annual Golden Penguin Awards competition, recognizing outstanding promotional efforts of the frozen food industry. The NFFA honored 40 Gold Penguin winners and 73 Silver Penguin winners out of hundreds of entries from across the country. Winners were chosen based upon creative effort using the National Frozen Food Month Logo during a 30-day program. Promotional efforts included in-store consumer programs, advertising, community service and education, and the creative use of merchandising materials and special displays.

Golden Penguin Awards will be presented at the 2001 National Frozen Food Convention on Oct. 6 to 10 in San Antonio. Silver Penguins are generally presented at the local level at appropriate frozen food association meetings.
