H-E-B is launching a campaign to help people affected by disasters in its home state with the release of a limited-edition cookie.
Five percent of sales proceeds from Choco Coco Twisters will help people affected by Texas disasters, with those funds to be donated directly to the American Red Cross.
Available throughout the summer at 350 stores in Texas, Choco Coco Twisters are coconut cream sandwich cookies with bits of coconut candy flakes between two chocolate cookies. They are among the more than 1,000 H-E-B Select Ingredients products made without artificial flavors, high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors and hundreds of other synthetic ingredients, the retailer said.
The company said the fundraising effort was motivated by the strength and fortitude shown throughout Texas during and after Hurricane Harvey battered coastal communities as well as much of Houston and the Golden Triangle, Rockport, Galveston and Port Arkansas.
Exclusive to San Antoni0-based H-E-B, Twisters also have come in seasonal flavors released throughout the year, with other fan-favorites including Mango Chamoy, Mochaccino, Mexican Hot Chocolate and a winter-holiday special Candy Cane variety.
