Safeway Appoints Randalls Division President
PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Safeway has named Steve Frisby to be president of the company's Randalls division. He succeeds Frank lazaran, who left the company.
Frisby is a longtime Safeway veteran with 30 years of experience. Most recently, he was president of GroceryWorks, Safeway's online grocery shopping and home-delivery service.
Meanwhile, Safeway named Gary Rocheleau to succeed Frisby as president of GroceryWorks. Rocheleau was Safeway's Vons division vice president, marketing operations.
Spartan Names Tobin VP of Ohio Food Town
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Spartan Stores here said it named Tom Tobin divisional vice president, operations, for the company's Food Town stores in Ohio. He most recently was vice president, operations, East Coast supercenters, Kmart.
At Spartan, Tobin replaces Ross England, who left the company to pursue other interests. The post had been filled on an interim basis by Keith DeFisher, who remains regional vice president, the Pharm, Spartan's 25-unit, food-and-drug combo chain. Tobin will be based in Spartan's Maumee, Ohio, divisional office.
