LUBBOCK, Texas — Proud Pepper jalapeno jelly, DL Jardines salsa and small crops of orange and yellow watermelon are some of the Texas fare that will be sampled at Market Street’s third annual Best of Texas Expo, July 21 and 22.
Drawing residents from surrounding areas to Market Street’s 10 stores, the expos are one of the most popular events Market Street hosts each year, according to Monica Schierbaum, director of marketing for Market Street’s parent United Supermarkets.

“People from Texas like things from Texas so there is a lot of pride,” said Schierbaum, adding that store associates get into the spirit by donning cowboy hats and red bandanas.
Sales of foods highlighted during the event are always lifted and often purchased again and again. “People say things like ‘I never knew you had this and now it’s my favorite salsa,'” she said.
