CARDIFF BY THE SEA, Calif. -- Loyal customers shopping at Cardiff Seaside Market here are being rewarded for their patronage this month through a program that provides shoppers with movie coupons.

The program, scheduled to run through June 30, is rewarding customers who spend $50 in a single visit at the independent retailer's store.

"Other loyalty programs require that customers spend $200 or $300 [to earn rewards]," John Najjar, owner of Cardiff Seaside Market, said in a statement. "By providing these movie rewards, we can show all of our customers, even those with smaller budgets, that we appreciate their business."

Qualifying customers receive a rewards package including a $5 movie admission voucher, and a $5 booklet of coupons valid at the specialty grocery store. The movie voucher can be used at participating United Artists, Edwards and Mann theaters.

"With their movie check in hand, consumers can head straight to participating theaters and enjoy a movie on us," Najjar said.

The promotion, Movie$ Awards, is from First-Run Marketing, San Diego.
