NGA names creative ad winners

The National Grocers Association named the Creative Choice Awards “Best of Show” winners in marketing and merchandising categories Monday during its annual convention in Las Vegas.

Best of Show in marketing was awarded to K-VA-T Food Stores, Abingdon, Va., for a campaign entitled “Salute,” which involved a 60-second video commercial created to honor and show respect for members of the armed forces. Originally aired on the Fourth of July, it aired again on Labor Day and Veterans Day.

Best of Show in merchandising was awarded to B. Green & Company, Baltimore, Md., for a campaign entitled “Food Depot and Eat Right, Live Well,” which sought to encourage low-income shoppers to buy more healthy items in-store.
