Upstate New York ShopRite officials handled tragic event with proper sensitivity.

An upstate New York man was fatally stabbed in the neck by another man, apparently a stranger and without provocation, in the produce section of a ShopRite about 60 miles north of New York City on Saturday.
ShopRite released a statement to customers after the bloody crime, reported CBS New York:
“We can confirm that an unfortunate incident took place this morning at our store. The store will remain closed for the rest of the day while police conduct a thorough investigation. While we can’t discuss the ongoing investigation, we are working with the police and reaching out to all of our associates. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those involved.”
The incident could have happened anywhere. But it did not. It happened in the aisles of a supermarket and created a surreal feeling in the community and among the many workers at the store. ShopRite officials did the right thing. They closed the store and left it that way even after the police concluded their investigation. ShopRite told its employees to go home and be with their families.
Then the company brought in a clean-up crew and got the store in perfect condition, ready to open the next day, which they did.
A tragic event handled correctly by store and chain personnel: Give everyone a chance to re-group and then get the store up and running again as quickly as possible to put this terrible event behind us.
